The 7 Levels Engagement

Is your company AI-Ready?
Who on your team can lead the work?

Both questions are easy to ask, hard to answer.

The 7 Levels Engagement answers both in six weeks. We score your team against a published seven-level standard, surface the AI-Ready people you already have on payroll, and hand you a written report your board can read.

You walk in not knowing. You walk out with the names, the path, and the proof.

Diagnostic

Straight answers worth
$19,500.

Ask yourself these questions before you book a call.

  1. 01Is your team AI-Ready?
  2. 02Could you prove it?
  3. 03Who on your team is ready to lead the AI work?
  4. 04Could you put the answers on a single page for your board?

If you cannot answer yes to each one, this engagement was built for you.

What it produces

What "AI-Ready" looks like.
On your team. In six weeks.

These are the seven behaviors of an AI-Ready team. Six weeks gets your team there. The Capability Report names who is leading each one.

01

They use AI on real work, not demos.

Every person builds at least four real tools for their actual job. Saved instructions for tasks they do over and over. Prompt templates for client emails. Step-by-step plans for routine work. Small AI helpers that run on their own.

P&L hook: time saved on tasks your team already does. Real labor cost off the books.

02

They speak the same language about AI.

The 7 Levels framework gives the team words they did not have. "Where is Maria?" "What level does this team need?" "What is the difference between Sarah and Mike?" Real talks replace vague worry.

P&L hook: faster decisions on AI vendors, hires, and training spend. Fewer wrong bets.

03

They know which AI tool to use, and when.

Choosing the right tool becomes a habit, not a guess. The Microsoft Copilot rollout that nobody used? They now know when it is the right tool and when it is not. They stop paying for power they do not need.

P&L hook: stops overpaying for premium AI. Stops underusing the tools you already license.

04

They catch bad AI output before it ships.

This is the Level 3 skill that keeps your team safe. They learn the ways AI gets it wrong. They learn how to check the work. They stop pasting and praying.

P&L hook: liability avoided. The team that does not check AI output eventually ships something costly.

05

They have the confidence to make AI decisions.

Hiring. Training spend. Picking vendors. AI policy. Board reports. The Capability Report names which choices the team is ready to make and which still need more practice.

P&L hook: stops sending every AI question to the one fluent person. Leadership stops being the AI helpdesk.

06

The report becomes your roadmap.

The Capability Report names which dimensions need deeper work, which people are ready to lead at the next level, and which capabilities take longer than six weeks to build. The roadmap is what your CFO uses to plan next year's development budget.

P&L hook: capability that compounds. Most teams keep going from here.

07

You find the AI-Ready people you already have.

The Capability Report names the people on your team operating at Level 3 or higher. They are the ones ready to lead AI work in their function. You stop guessing who is "good with AI." You stop hiring against a market where qualified AI talent is nearly impossible to find.

P&L hook: the AI-Ready leaders you needed were already on payroll. The engagement finds them.

Two paths to payback. Both are operational, not magical. Your CFO does the math.

The Framework

AI-Ready, defined.
Seven levels.

This is the scale that defines what "AI-Ready" actually means. Each level names a real capability, not a buzzword. Each maps to specific behaviors a board can verify. The Capability Report names exactly which level every person on your team is operating at today.

# Rank Title What this level looks like
L1CadetAI AwareKnows AI exists. Has tried a chatbot. Cannot yet say what it changed.
L2EnsignPrompt EngineerWrites good prompts. Gets reliable answers on simple tasks.
L3LieutenantCritical ThinkerKnows when AI gets it wrong. Checks the work. Builds prompts they reuse.
L4CommanderContext EngineerBuilds reusable instructions and workflows the whole team uses.
L5CaptainDesign ThinkerDesigns better team processes that use AI. Picks the right tool for each job.
L6AdmiralSystems IntegratorBuilds AI systems that work across the whole company.
L7Mission DirectorAI OrchestratorRuns the company with AI built into every layer. Almost nobody is here yet.

Most teams score between L1 and L3 the first time. The Capability Report names where every person started and where every person finished, by name, by level, by dimension.

The framework is published in chapters 4 through 10 of You Have Already Been Replaced by AI. Live on Amazon. A real ISBN, not a consultant's slide deck.

The Process

How it works,
step by step.

This is how we answer both questions for your team. Five steps, from the discovery call to Day 90.

Step 1 · 20 min

Discovery call.

You and Harrison talk through the team, the goal, and the timing. If it is a fit, we send a written proposal in 48 hours.

You receive: your kickoff window, the cohort plan for your team, and a proposal ready to sign.

Step 2 · Week 1

Kickoff and baseline.

Every person on the cohort takes the full 7 Levels assessment. We meet for the live kickoff workshop. You and Harrison see the team's baseline scores together: where each person sits on the 7 Levels, and which dimension is each person's weakest (AI skill, cognitive skill, or EQ skill).

You receive: an Individual Level Profile for every person, plus a Team Capability Map.

Step 3 · Weeks 2–5

Four weekly sessions.

Four weekly 75-minute live sessions with Harrison. The cohort works on real tasks from your business between sessions. In Week 5 the cohort reviews each other's work and consolidates what they built.

You receive: at least four real tools per person (saved instructions, prompt templates, step-by-step plans, small AI helpers).

Step 4 · Week 6

Closing week.

Every person re-takes the full 7 Levels assessment. Live debrief on what changed. Within 10 business days you get the written report and a 30-minute live debrief with your sponsor.

You receive: an 8 to 12 page Capability Report (typeset, ready for your board) plus a 30-minute live Sponsor Debrief.

Step 5 · Day 90

Day 90 persistence check.

A short persistence check on the same instrument. We see whether the gain held. Within 5 business days you get the persistence supplement.

You receive: a 2 to 3 page Day-90 Persistence Supplement showing how the gain held up.

Three scores. Real tools your team built. Two written reports. One live debrief. All on paper. All ready for your board.

Your Industry

This is what it looks like
in your business.

The framework works in any industry. The behaviors are the same. The applications are different.

Hospital systems

A hospital operations and HR team at Level 2 can run scheduling, vendor contracts, recruiting emails, and policy drafts through AI. No patient information ever touches it. A Level 3 administrator can build saved instructions that shorten monthly board reports, accreditation paperwork, and budget reviews.

Path to P&L: every administrative hour AI absorbs is an hour your team spends on revenue work, or an hour you do not have to pay for.

Law firms

A partner team at Level 3 reviews documents, drafts client letters, and speeds up discovery work. They do this without the risk of unchecked AI output reaching clients. The Capability Report names which attorneys are ready to use AI on case work and which need more practice.

Path to P&L: every hour AI saves a partner is an hour they can spend on billable work.

Electrical contractors and trades

An office leadership team at Level 2 can run job estimates, scheduling, and supplier emails through AI. The field crews do not have to change a thing. The Capability Report tells you whether your project managers are ready to send quotes faster, or whether they need more practice.

Path to P&L: faster quotes win more deals. Same office headcount, more deals out the door.

Veterinary practices

A practice owner or office manager team at Level 2 can build scheduling, inventory planning, vendor emails, and recruiting emails on tools they already pay for. A Level 3 office manager can shorten monthly financial reports and compliance paperwork.

Path to P&L: same staff, more capacity. The owner stops doing admin work that AI can do faster.

Manufacturing, professional services, financial services

Same shape, different tasks: production planning, audit prep, policy review, vendor talks, board pack prep. The framework works in any industry because the skills are human, not tied to any one tool.

Path to P&L: every operational task AI absorbs frees up bandwidth for the work that drives revenue or cuts cost.

Your team will not be doing the same job in two years. The question is whether you will know what changed.

Price

Flat price.
No surprises.

The engagement puts your team on one of two paths to payback. Both are operational, not magical.

One mid-level hire to drive AI capability inside your company runs $80,000 to $120,000 in salary. Time to ramp: four to seven months. Qualified AI talent is, right now, almost impossible to find on the open market. The 7 Levels Engagement is roughly 16 to 24 percent of the salary of one hire. Six weeks to outcome instead of six months. And it names every AI-Ready person you already have on payroll.

Why us

The method,
not the marketing.

Most consulting firms protect their methodology. We publish ours. The biggest names in leadership measurement built their businesses on a method everyone could see: Gallup with CliftonStrengths, FranklinCovey with 7 Habits, CCL with Benchmarks 360. Each is a published method first, a delivery business second. The 7 Levels Engagement is built the same way. You can read the framework, take the assessment, and watch the system run before you book the call.

01

The framework is published.

You Have Already Been Replaced by AI by Harrison Painter. Chapters 4 through 10 lay out the 7 Levels in detail. Real ISBN. Live on Amazon. A book has consequences a slide deck does not.

02

The instrument is built.

A situational judgment test that scores every participant across three dimensions (AI skill, cognitive skill, EQ skill) and places them on the 7 Levels. Same instrument used in every engagement to produce the Week 1 baseline.

03

The system is live.

Harrison built ailawtracker.org in 20 hours. It tracks 50+ AI bills, refreshes daily, and is referenced by state-level audiences in Indiana. Proof we operate at the level we teach.

04

The voice is on record.

Two long-form conversations on the AI Ready Podcast: a state-level industry COO and a former Vice Chairman of Deloitte Digital. Both on tape, both unedited, both watchable below.

FAQ

Common
questions.

What if my team has never seriously used AI?

Then most of them will score at Level 1 or Level 2 on the first assessment. That is where we built the engagement to start. Half of every cohort scores here. The framework is for teams who feel behind, not teams who already get it.

What is in the Capability Report?

Individual pre and post proficiency scores for every participant. Delta per level per person. Team capability map showing cluster movement. Specific development recommendations. It is a document you can show a board or an executive sponsor to prove outcomes. Not a certificate of completion.

What if a participant starts at Level 1 and another at Level 5?

Expected and designed for. The cohort sessions work at the L3 to L5 band, but every participant works on challenges at their own level. The measurement shows each person's individual movement, not a group average.

How many engagements do you run per quarter?

Cohorts are limited because Harrison delivers each personally. Book early if you want specific dates.

Do participants keep access to the framework after the engagement?

Yes. Every participant receives a signed copy of the book, keeps their assessment results, and retains access to the public 7 Levels framework at launchready.ai/7-levels indefinitely.

Who should attend?

Leadership teams, department heads, or teams from different parts of the company. Mixed skill levels are expected and the program is built for it. We have run cohorts where one person started at Level 1 and another at Level 5 in the same room.

What industries have you worked with?

The framework works in any industry. Past cohorts include healthcare, professional services (legal, accounting, consulting), trades and contractors, veterinary practices, manufacturing, financial services, technology, and education. AI proficiency is a human skill, not specific to any one industry.

Do you work with larger enterprise organizations?

Yes. The Enterprise tier is $35,000 flat for organizations of 1,500 or more employees. Up to 20 participants. On-site kickoff and close included. Longer report with stakeholder interviews. Sponsor program required. Quoted in the discovery call.

What is the best way to find out if this is a fit?

Book a 20-minute discovery call with Harrison. We will ask specific questions about where your team is today and tell you whether this is the right program before any signature.

Twenty minutes.
Two answers.

Twenty minutes with Harrison. No slide deck. On the call we tell you what we think the answers to your two questions are: what level your team is most likely operating at today, and which of your people are most likely to lead the AI work. We lock the kickoff window and quote the engagement. If this is not the right fit for your team, we will tell you that, too.

Free. 10 minutes. The same instrument the engagement uses.
